Stitcher's Showcase

'Where all Stitchers can showcase their work.'

I have found that stitchers tend to be very giving people. We stitch a lot for other people and rarely keep anything for ourselves. That was true for me until I opened a needlework shop in 1989 and had only two models to hang on the walls!

Hi Tommye,
I stitch for my family when I have the time I'm currently making a quilt for my granddaughters but I haven't done anything to it since christmas.

Take Care

I haven't stitched for anybody else yet, because I tend to do very big projects. However, I would stitch for somebody in the case of a special occasion (birth of a child or something) and I would like to make a stocking for myself and my boyfriend :D

I've had stockings on my list of things to do for about 20 years! I manage to stitch about 25 ornaments every year for family and friends. Plus I stitch for my sisters, mom, and husband for Christmas. Sometimes birthdays, too.

I do tend to stitch a lot for exchanges, and have a few big BAP's on the go as well.
I have stitched a few items for family as well.
But I do love to receive as well, I love seeing what other people stitch, and I am building up quite a collection.
I would love to own or even work in a Needlework shop...Oh heaven.

A needlework shop is my idea of bliss too.....there isn't any close at all here in our neck of the woods...in fact, I have to travel about 20 miles just to buy skein of floss.....

I have stitched for a few close friends and family but I mainly stitch large projects for myself.

all of the cross stitch projects I have done so far I have given away as presents. I framed a few, and another one was a little pillow. they turned out really nice, I wish I would have taken pictures....oh well....I'm now trying to make things for myself, but I wouldn't be surprised if I end up gifting them, but this time i will take pictures....LOL

I know what you mean we have none here either.

Usually I do cross stitch projects for myself (usually the kits) but have started coming up with some designs to stitch and give away as gifts. I have now started my first custom project for a friend. She told me what she wanted and I designed it for her. I am now stitching it. I am a graphic designer by trade and am quickly realizing that the graphic design and cross stitch design process are quite similar in regards to customer service. I am hoping to eventually come up with some designs to sell online and offline in the future.

I completed 'Mad Bluebird' earlier this year, which was the first thing I've stitched just for me! Over the years, I've made so many wedding samplers, birth samplers, samplers 'just for friends' gifts', sweatshirts and blouses, ornaments (oodles and oddles of them each year for gifts and to sell), towels (too many to keep track of), etc., etc...........but, for at least six years, nothing for just me! I do have a basket full of UFO's to complete, most of which will be for our home, but it's buried under the stack of 'things to complete before Christmas'. Get the point? That reminds me......gotta get off this computer and back to stitching for the rest of this evening! Thanks for reading..........to anyone who has stuck with me here.

I have stitched ornaments, key chains, needlebooks ( that was a teaching project for 4 other people), ornaments- oh already listed that once, a pattern of "Cocola" 3 times- each time i started it....someone else would admire it..there it goes, after the 3rd time the color 666 got kinda old, so i finished it...and gave the pattern away... yep haven't seen aonther like that again.
I have a pattern of a raccoon for my middle son..wil start that one now in order to have it done by christmas.
just made a snowman ornament for a g-son...he was really admiring it while i stitched on it.
