How to Upload Photos
Before I show you how to upload photos I need to mention just a couple of things about photos.
- The photos you upload are meant to showcase your work. We will have a lot of photos on Stitcher's Showcase and the only way people will find your work is either through our Search facility or by seeing them on your page. We are trying to make available a better showcasing facility on the home page but that is a way off just yet. So I urge you to read our notes on Showcasing Your Work prior to uploading any photos.
- We support photos in .jpeg, .gif and .png formats only
- Keep the file size as small as possible. While we allow files up to 10MB in size, if you upload files that size they will be so slow loading that people will click away to another page before the photo completes loading.
This tutorial deals with what I believe to be the best method of uploading. There are a couple of main methods, one using our Quick Add function, and the other, my preferred, using the main Add Photos function on the main Photos page. Ultimately, the choice is yours, and you should try each method to determine what is best for you.

| As you can see from this image the Quick Add function is found in the Welcome box at the top of the right-hand column. You can drop-down a list of things you can add quickly, including photos. It does indeed add the photo quickly, but adopts the filename as the title and does not give you the opportunity to add a description or tags. So to complete the process you still have to use the edit option for each photo to add the title, description and tags. | |

| My Preferred Method | |

This method uses the Add Photos function on the main Photos page to add multiple photos at once, while still giving you the opportunity to include a title, description and tags for each photo.

Step 1
From the home page click on the Photos tab. |

Step 2
Click on the Add Photos link in the top right of the page. |

Step 3
The first time you go to upload photos you will probably be presented with the Java based bulk uploader as shown here. This will take a while to load so DON'T PANIC and think something is wrong. It is just slow to load. I suggest you use our simple uploader so click on the link Return to our simple uploader. Thereafter, the simple uploader should be loaded automatically and you will notice it loads much faster.

Step 4
This is how your simple uploader should look. You need to now click on the Browse button to display a file dialog for selecting each of the files you want to upload. You can select up to 8 files for each upload session. Once you have selected the files click on the Upload Photos button.

Step 5
Once you have uploaded your photos you will see something like this image. If you uploaded multiple images this will be repeated vertically down the page for each image. Fill in a suitable Title, Description and then Tags. If you read our Showcasing Your Work notes you will be aware that these items are important. You can change the Who can view this photo? settings if you prefer. You can also enter a Location. Not sure why you would want to but the option is there. When you are ready click on the Save Changes button to complete adding the photo/s. |

Editing Later
If you want to change anything about your photo you will notice several options are available in the bottom right corner below the photo.
